An Associated Press article on February 20 announces that the economic ministry of Japan has ordered the Japanese unit of Utah-based Neways Inc. to suspend a part of its business in Japan for three months as a penalty for making false and unwarranted criticisms of products sold by rival companies.

As a network marketing firm whose management team had past ties to Neways, SISEL International has issued a response to this action. The AP article notes that the National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan said that it has received more than 1,000 complaints about the sales tactics of Neways Japan annually.
